Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you're a Tesla enthusiast like me, you've probably been keeping a close eye on the latest developments with the Model Y lineup. In my recent video, I dove into some exciting sightings and updates that have the community buzzing. Even though Elon Musk has stated that the Model Y L (the six-seater version) isn't hitting the US until next year, it's already been spotted stateside. Let's break it down, plus some quick notes on Cybertruck trade-ins and a tip on protecting your credit before financing your next Tesla.
That's right – the Model Y L, with its six-seater configuration, has been spotted right here in the US, complete with a California license plate. This doesn't mean production is ramping up stateside just yet; it could be Tesla importing one for research, testing, or design tweaks. According to Tesla Newswire, this particular Model Y L was brought to Tesla's design center in Los Angeles, giving us a sneak peek at its interior.
What stands out? The seats look incredibly comfortable, featuring a massive cushion at the top and ventilated options for that premium feel. But here's the twist: the interior isn't the standard white we've come to expect. It appears more like a light gray premium interior – a fresh color variant that's different from what's typically available in the US or even internationally. Whether it's the lighting or a new design choice, it's definitely intriguing.
Why Los Angeles? It's likely the design team is evaluating it for potential changes or enhancements before a full rollout. Elon has confirmed production will start next year, but this sighting raises questions: Could we see China-produced units imported earlier? It's a positive sign for those waiting on the six-seater, though I still predict it's a 2025 thing at the earliest. We might get the Model Y Performance refresh this year, with the six-seater following suit.

Shifting gears to the Cybertruck: In my previous video, I mentioned Tesla offering insanely high trade-in values (like $100,000 to $118,000) for Cybertrucks. Turns out, that was a software glitch on Tesla's end. The latest from sources indicates they're now only accepting trade-ins for Foundation Series Cybertrucks, not the all-wheel-drive variants. It's an interesting move – perhaps they're prioritizing certain models for internal purposes or resale. If you're in the market, this could affect your strategy. Let me know your take on this in the comments!
If you're planning to finance a Tesla – whether it's a Model Y, Cybertruck, or anything else – there's one crucial step you shouldn't skip: protecting your credit. Recently, Bank of America had a data breach and didn't notify customers for a month. Crazy, right? Your social security number, phone, and email could be exposed without you knowing, and on average, companies take 277 days (that's over 9 months!) to report breaches.
That's why I use Aura, today's sponsor. Aura scans the dark web for your info and alerts you if anything pops up – from social security numbers to bank details. But it's more than that: It reduces spam calls, removes your data from shady broker sites, and even includes up to $5 million in identity theft insurance. All in one easy app!
You can try Aura free for 14 days at aura.com/denniscw. I'll link it below too. Don't wait until it's too late – it's like enabling Sentry Mode before your car gets scratched. Protect yourself now!
