Hey everyone, Dennis here from DennisCW! If you're into Tesla deal hacking like I am, you're in for a treat. In my latest video, we dove deep into some exciting Tesla updates, from Elon Musk spilling the beans on the upcoming affordable model to current incentives, interest rates, and more. If you haven't watched it yet, check it out here. Today, I'm breaking it all down in this blog post to help you decide if you should snag a Tesla now or hold out for the budget-friendly option. Let's jump in!
Elon Musk recently let the cat out of the bag during an earnings call, hinting that Tesla's much-anticipated affordable model is essentially "just a Model Y." This could mean a de-contented version with fewer features to hit a lower price point, potentially around $35,000. But here's the kicker: it might not arrive until Q4, well after the $7,500 federal tax credit expires.
We've spotted mysterious Model Y prototypes testing in Fremont, possibly with a sleeker, lower profile or even using older body styles with tweaks for cost savings. Elon emphasized that affordability is key because desire for Teslas is high, but many can't afford them. He also teased robotaxi capabilities coming next year, which could let owners earn money by adding their car to a fleet.
If you're eyeing this affordable model, consider what might be cut to save costs:

Current Model Y deals are hot, especially with the $7,500 federal tax credit. A Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive Model Y starts at about $45,000, but after the credit, it's effectively $37,500. If the affordable model lands at $35,000 without the credit, prices could be similar. Plus, Tesla's CFO hinted incentives might not improve and could even disappear.
Tesla isn't launching new models this quarter—they're focusing on selling existing Model 3s and Ys. If you're buying, use a referral code (like mine in the description) for three months of free Full Self-Driving (FSD). And don't trade in your old car to Tesla—use GiveMeTheVin.com for max value; they're even doing a $25,000 giveaway!
Check Tesla's incentives page for deals, but stay tuned—I'll cover more hidden incentives in upcoming videos.
Auto loan rates are dropping from highs, averaging 7.3% for new cars. Tesla's offers like 3.49% for 60 months on Model Y or 0% on Model 3 (with FSD) are steals compared to the market's 9.1% average. Even 4.99% for 72 months beats competitors. If you're financing, now's a great time—zero down is possible in some cases!
Switching gears, check out the Lucid Gravity Dream Edition: Monthly payments hit $3,687 on a 48-month loan or $2,469 on a lease (with the $7,500 loophole). It's premium, but wow—makes Tesla look like a bargain!
On the business side, Tesla's Q2 revenue fell 12% year-over-year, the biggest drop in a decade. They're shifting focus to robotaxis, AI, and Optimus robots over sales. Elon downplayed short-term profits, eyeing a "post-autonomy" world. What do you think of this pivot? Are you in on FSD and autonomy?
The Tesla Diner in LA is buzzing! It's 24/7 for car-side orders, but indoor dining is 6 AM to midnight. With 80 Superchargers, congestion fees apply after 35 minutes at 100% charge. Lines for food and merch are long—order from your car for convenience.
On FSD: Only a small percentage of owners use it. Should Tesla give it free for six months? Or gamify it with rewards like free Supercharging miles or merch for usage? Basic Autopilot is "good enough" for some, but FSD's 10x safety stats are compelling. What's stopping you from trying it?
New Tesla owner? Grab essentials like phone mounts, center console organizers, and all-weather floor mats. I love Jowua's products—use my promo code for savings and free shipping over $120. For mats, 3W Liners are my top pick (35% off with code Dennis35). Links below!
With incentives potentially vanishing and the affordable Model Y possibly not much cheaper after taxes, buying now might be smarter. If you need a car soon, don't wait—secure that $7,500 credit. Follow me for more deal hacks, and subscribe to my newsletter at denniscw.com.
