Hey everyone, DennisCW here! Today, I’m diving into some concerning news about Tesla’s delivery numbers for 2024. If you’ve been following the Tesla space, you might have noticed the buzz around declining sales projections. Let’s break it down and discuss what this could mean for Tesla’s future, along with some exciting Tesla accessory recommendations for new and prospective owners.
One of my go-to Tesla analysts, Troy Teslike, recently shared an updated forecast for Tesla’s 2024 deliveries. Initially, projections were set at 1.79 million deliveries for the year. However, the consensus among analysts has dropped to 1.68 million, and Troy’s latest estimate is even lower at 1.6 million. This is a significant decrease and signals that Tesla might be facing some challenges in meeting its delivery goals.
So, why the drop? There seems to be a shift in focus at Tesla. While selling cars remains crucial for revenue, the company appears to be pivoting toward other ventures like robo-taxis, AI, and robotics. This change in priority could be a strategic move, but it raises questions about their core business of vehicle sales.
We’ll get a clearer picture soon—within a week, after the current quarter closes. These numbers will give us insight into Tesla’s performance and whether we’ll see more incentives or discounts to boost sales. As a bold prediction, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see 0% financing on all models by the end of the year. We’ve seen similar aggressive promotions in the past, especially with the Model 3 and Model Y last year, so it’s definitely within the realm of possibility.
The challenges aren’t just limited to delivery numbers. Tesla’s inventory levels are climbing for most models, except the Model S. The Cybertruck and Model X have particularly high inventory, while the Model 3 and Model Y are also seeing significant increases. For instance, the Model 3 inventory has spiked recently, which could indicate slower sales or overproduction.
Looking at global markets, Troy Teslike shared data on Tesla China sales for this quarter, based on weekly car insurance registrations. After 12 weeks, sales are lower than in Q1, even though Tesla previously attributed a drop to Model Y production changes. Markets like Europe and China aren’t performing as strongly either, which could push Tesla to offer bigger incentives in the coming quarters.
For potential buyers, this could be good news. If you’re not in a rush to buy a Tesla, waiting might pay off. We could see even better deals by Q4, especially if inventory continues to build. That said, if you’re ready to buy now, take advantage of current offers like 0% or 1.99% financing before the end of the month. Congrats to everyone who’s recently purchased or is about to buy a Tesla—let me know your thoughts in the comments!
Now, let’s move on to the fun part—accessories! If you’ve just bought a Tesla or are planning to, accessorizing your vehicle can enhance your ownership experience. There are tons of options out there, but I’ve narrowed it down to my top three must-have accessories. Plus, I’ve got links and discount codes in the description of my video and on page two of our Best Deal Spreadsheet.
All-Weather Floor Mats - My number one recommendation! Protecting your Tesla’s interior is a priority, especially with unpredictable weather. I’ve categorized options into Good, Better, and Best:
Phone Mounts - A practical addition for easy navigation and hands-free use. There are plenty of great options to suit your style and budget.
Center Console Organizers - Tesla doesn’t come with a built-in center console organizer, so this is a must-have for keeping your essentials tidy. I use one from Jawa on all our Teslas, and I highly recommend it (link in the video description).

Tesla’s declining delivery projections for 2024 are a bit concerning, but they also open up opportunities for buyers with potential discounts on the horizon. While Tesla seems to be shifting focus to futuristic projects like robo-taxis and AI, their vehicle sales remain a critical part of the business. I’m curious to see how the rest of the year plays out, especially after the upcoming quarterly results.
What do you think about Tesla’s current situation? Are you holding off for better deals, or are you jumping on current offers?
