Tesla End-of-Quarter Deals: Strategies to Save Big in June
Tesla End-of-Quarter Deals: Strategies to Save Big in June
Hey everyone, DennisCW here! Welcome back to another update on all things Tesla. As we approach the end of June, we're nearing the close of another quarter, which means Tesla is rolling out some aggressive incentives to boost sales. In this blog post, I’ll dive into the current deals, share strategies for locking in the best offers, and discuss what to do if your delivery gets delayed into July. Plus, I’ll touch on predictions for future incentives and other Tesla-related topics. Let’s get started!
Current Tesla Incentives: What’s on the Table?
As of now, Tesla is offering some fantastic deals, especially on the Model 3 and Model Y, which I know many of you are eyeing. Here’s a quick rundown of the key incentives available in the US market (note that these may vary by region):
- Model 3: 0% financing for up to 60 months if you take delivery by June 30th.
- Model Y: 1.99% financing on both all-wheel drive (AWD) and rear-wheel drive (RWD) variants, with delivery also required by June 30th. For AWD, you need to order by June 16th to secure this rate.
- Referral Bonus: Use a Tesla referral code (like the one in the description of my videos) to get 3 months of Full Self-Driving (FSD) for free.
- America’s Heroes Program: Eligible individuals (military, first responders, teachers, etc.) can get $1,000 off their Tesla purchase.
- Lyft Driver Credit: Another $1,000 credit for Lyft drivers.
- FSD Transfer Program: Transfer Full Self-Driving capability to a new Tesla under certain conditions.
These offers are time-sensitive, especially with the end-of-quarter push. Tesla historically ramps up incentives during the last weeks of March, June, September, and December to hit delivery targets, so now is a prime time to act if you’re in the market.
Should You Lock in a Deal Now or Wait for Better Offers?
A big question I’ve been hearing is whether to place an order now or hold off for potentially better deals later in the month. Here’s my take:
- Place a Deposit Now: If you’re eyeing the 1.99% financing on the Model Y (especially AWD), I recommend putting down the $250 deposit ASAP as a safety net. If a better deal comes along, you can cancel and potentially get the deposit refunded or applied to a new order. Tesla has been flexible with this in the past.
- Will Deals Get Better?: Honestly, I don’t expect a drastic improvement for Model Y incentives this month. My prediction? Tesla will likely extend the 1.99% financing for AWD beyond June 16th to the end of the month due to high inventory levels. They might streamline the offer dates to avoid confusion between AWD and RWD deadlines.
If you’re worried about missing out, check the Tesla inventory page for vehicles available for immediate delivery near your location. This can help ensure you take delivery by June 30th to lock in the current rates.
Delivery Delays into July: What to Do?
I’ve heard from several of you that your Model Y estimated delivery dates (EDDs) are being pushed into July, especially if you’re not near major Tesla factories like those in California or Texas. Since Tesla prioritizes quick deliveries at the end of the quarter, logistical challenges might delay shipments to certain areas.
Here are some strategies to navigate this:
- Switch to an Inventory Vehicle: Check Tesla’s website for inventory cars based on your zip code. These are often available for faster delivery. You can also visit a local Tesla store or call a sales advisor for assistance.
- Negotiate with Tesla: If your delivery is delayed past June 30th, reach out to your advisor. Express willingness to take an inventory vehicle (even if it’s not your ideal color or config) and see if they can waive fees or offer additional discounts. Tesla wants to hit delivery numbers, so they might sweeten the deal. I recently helped someone secure a $300 credit this way!
- Complete the Credit Application: Remember, securing the 1.99% financing isn’t just about the deposit—it also requires submitting a credit application. Don’t skip this step if you’re aiming for the current rates.
If your delivery does slip into July, unfortunately, you might miss out on the current financing offers as they’re tied to a June 30th delivery deadline per Tesla’s terms. That’s why acting fast and exploring inventory options is crucial.
Predictions for Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck Incentives
Let’s shift gears to some other Tesla models. I’ve noticed a significant uptick in Model S and Model X inventory recently, almost rivaling Cybertruck levels. With the recent refresh of these models (albeit minor) and a $5,000 price increase, Tesla might be positioning them strategically.
- Model S and Model X: I predict we’ll see 0% financing offers soon, possibly tied to Full Self-Driving purchases, to clear out older inventory. Discounts on inventory vehicles are already hitting up to $9,500, so keep an eye out for more aggressive deals.
- Cybertruck Strategy: Here’s a bit of speculation—could Tesla be keeping Model S and X prices high to make the Cybertruck seem like a better value? The Cybertruck AWD is $10,000 less than a Model X and $5,000-6,000 less than a Model S. Features like steer-by-wire and four-wheel steering make it a compelling choice at the price point. If I had to pick between the three at $80,000, I’d choose the Cybertruck 8-9 times out of 10.
What do you think? Are you in the market for a Model S, X, or Cybertruck? Let me know in the comments!
Additional Tips and Resources for Tesla Buyers
Before I wrap up, here are a few more things to keep in mind as you navigate your Tesla purchase:
- America’s Heroes Incentive: Don’t forget about the $1,000 discount for military, first responders, teachers, and students. It’s easy to claim via ID.me verification and stacks with most other offers (except the Lyft credit). Link your Tesla account email to ID.me, place your order, and the discount applies automatically.
- Protect Your Credit: With data breaches becoming all too common (like the recent Bank of America incident), protecting your personal info is critical, especially when applying for financing. I use Aura to monitor the dark web for my data and reduce spam calls. Try it free for 14 days at aura.com/denniscw and keep your identity safe.
- Tesla Accessories: Once you’ve got your Tesla, you’ll notice it comes with zero accessories—not even a phone mount! Check out my partner Jowua for must-haves like phone mounts, console organizers, and more. Use my promo code (linked in my video descriptions) to save money and support the channel.
- Floor Mats: For all-weather protection, I recommend 3W Liners. They’re my favorite after testing multiple brands, and you can save 25% (or even 35% with a special promo) using my code in the video description.
Final Thoughts
The end of June is a critical time to score a deal on a Tesla, especially with financing rates like 0% on the Model 3 and 1.99% on the Model Y. My advice? Don’t wait—place a deposit to secure your spot, explore inventory options to avoid delivery delays, and take advantage of every applicable incentive. I’m curious to hear your thoughts—are you planning to buy now, or are you holding out for bigger deals in Q3 or Q4? Drop a comment below!
