Hey everyone, DennisCW here! Welcome back to another update on all things Tesla and electric vehicles. First off, apologies for the technical hiccups at the start of my recent stream—MacOS updates and my setup with Wavelink and Elgato didn’t play nice. But we’re pushing past that with some exciting news! Tesla has rolled out a new incentive just in time for the 4th of July, offering free paint on select colors for a limited time. Let’s dive into the details, plus other hot topics like potential upcoming promotions, tax deductions, and more. Happy 4th to everyone, and thanks for your patience and support!
Tesla is celebrating Independence Day with a sweet offer: free paint upgrades on three colors—White, Ultra Red, and Blue—for the Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X. Here’s the breakdown:
This deal applies to both new and older models (though some colors like Frost Blue Metallic on newer vehicles aren’t eligible). You’ve got until July 14th to place your order and snag this perk. If you’re paying cash (not financing or leasing), this could be a nice little bonus. Plus, you can stack this with other offers like the America’s Hero Incentive for an additional $1,000 off if you qualify.
Don’t forget to use a Tesla referral code (like the one in my video description) to get 3 months of Full Self-Driving added to your purchase. Are you jumping on this deal? Let me know in the comments!
Here’s where it gets interesting. This promotion ends on a Monday (July 14th), and Tesla’s earnings call is just days later on July 23rd. Historically, Tesla often tweaks incentives around these dates or at the end of quarters. Could we see something bigger after this paint offer expires? Maybe a financing deal or a discount on Full Self-Driving? It’s worth keeping an eye on, especially if you’re not in a rush to buy right now.
Another hot topic is the $7,500 federal tax credit for EVs, which is rumored to be phasing out soon. Last time this happened, Rivian offered a binding order contract to lock in the credit for buyers. Could Tesla do something similar? I’m crossing my fingers they’ll figure out a workaround—after all, if anyone can, it’s Tesla. Combine this with the free paint and other incentives, and it might be a great time to act if you’re worried about missing out on the credit.
I ran a quick poll during the stream, and the results were split: about 50% of you said you’d buy a Tesla now only if there’s a deal, while others are still on the fence. What’s your take? Are you rushing to buy before the credit expires, or waiting for better incentives?
In legislative news, a new bill has passed (awaiting Trump’s signature) that offers a $10,000 tax deduction on interest for new car loans on US-made vehicles (like Tesla!). Sounds great, right? Well, not so fast. Here’s the math I crunched:
This applies to loans starting after December 31, 2024, phases out at $100k income for singles ($200k for married), and the car must be new and US-built. Honestly, it’s not a game-changer compared to a direct credit. What do you think—would this sway your decision to finance a Tesla?
On a fun note, Tesla is now using Cybertrucks for mobile service in some areas. Imagine booking a repair and having a Cybertruck roll up to fix your ride—pretty cool! Also, the Tesla Supercharging app just got a handy update with new icons for valet-only or pay-to-park locations, plus notifications for access codes and congestion levels. No more nasty surprises on road trips when you arrive at a charger in downtown LA and find out it’s valet-only (with a $20–$30 fee on top of charging costs).
Before you finance a Tesla, let’s talk about protecting your credit. Did you know Bank of America recently had a data breach and didn’t notify customers for a month? On average, companies wait 277 days to report breaches, leaving your identity exposed. That’s why I use Aura, today’s sponsor. Aura scans the dark web for my personal info, reduces spam calls, removes my data from sketchy broker sites, and offers up to $5 million in identity theft insurance—all in one app. Try it free for 14 days at aura.com/denniscw (link in the description). Don’t wait until it’s too late—protect your data now!
Looking for a fun Tesla collectible? Check out Mini Revs, who make insanely accurate Tesla miniatures. They’re running a giveaway this month—use promo code Dennis for 10% off, and two random orders will win a free Cybertruck mini with their purchase! Link in the description.
Also, if you’re a new Tesla owner, don’t forget Tesla doesn’t come with accessories. My go-to partner, Joah, offers essentials like phone mounts, console organizers, and even a slick underscreen storage mount. Use my promo code (in the description) for savings and free shipping on orders over $120. And for floor mats, 3W Liners are my favorite—use code Dennis35 for 35% off, their highest discount ever!
Thanks to everyone who joined the stream despite the late start—shoutout to Blueberry, Tesla54, Rick, Alex, IT Daddy, Matt, Anonymous, Miguel, Jose, and all of you for the likes and comments. I’m thrilled to see the community growing! What do you think of Tesla’s free paint offer? Are you buying now with the tax credit deadline looming, or holding out for better deals in Q3 or Q4?
