Hey everyone, DennisCW here! With June just around the corner, it’s time to dive into the potential Tesla incentives we might see in the last month of this quarter. Spoiler alert: I don’t think there will be anything groundbreaking in the next month or so, except for one particular model. Let’s break down what’s currently available, what history tells us, and what could be on the horizon for Tesla buyers. Buckle up, because we’re covering financing rates, leasing deals, inventory discounts, and more!
Before we speculate on upcoming offers, let’s recap what’s available right now if you’re looking to order a Tesla:
These are solid deals, but will Tesla sweeten the pot in June? Let’s talk about what history and trends suggest.
Having covered Tesla deals and financing for a couple of years now, I’ve noticed patterns in how they roll out incentives, especially at the end of a quarter. Tesla often pulls out special offers to boost sales numbers before the quarter closes. For instance, last year we saw the Model Y lease drop to an incredible $299 per month. While I don’t expect something that aggressive for most models this June, there are a few possibilities based on past trends.
The Model Y, especially the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) version, is still relatively new, and we haven’t even seen widespread deliveries of the RWD yet. Because of this, I don’t foresee major incentives for the Model Y in June. The current 1.99% financing rate for the AWD ends on June 16th, and I predict Tesla might extend a similar rate (like 1.99% or 2.99%) into Q3 rather than dropping it to 0%. Leasing rates for the Model Y AWD might see a slight tweak—perhaps down to $449 or $459 per month—but nothing drastic until the end of the quarter or later.
As for inventory discounts, we might see some Model Y discounts post-June 16th, likely in the $1,000 to $3,000 range. However, don’t expect to combine these with the low financing rates—Tesla typically makes you choose one or the other.
The Model 3 is already a fantastic deal with 0% financing and low lease payments. It’s also Tesla’s most in-demand vehicle right now, with a 1-3 week wait time for the RWD version. Given this demand, I don’t think Tesla will mess with the Model 3 incentives much in June. Expect the status quo to hold until at least Q3.
With the Model S and Model X refresh rumored to drop in the next week or two, I’m betting Tesla will offer incentives on the older versions to clear inventory. Historically, we’ve seen financing rates as low as 3.99% for these models at the end of a quarter, and I could easily see that happening again in June.
Here’s where I think the most exciting action will happen. Tesla has already been running a $799/month lease special with a $5,000 down payment for the Cybertruck for about a month. To switch things up and push sales, I predict a return of the 1.99% financing rate we’ve seen in the past. Additionally, Tesla might throw in perks like 3 months of free Supercharging or FSD—perhaps even a combination of all these incentives. If you’re eyeing a Cybertruck, June could be the month to strike!
Beyond financing and leasing, Tesla could roll out smaller perks to entice buyers. For instance, they might offer 3 months of free Supercharging or FSD to everyone (not just via referral codes) as a limited-time promotion. These kinds of offers are easy for Tesla to implement and have been used in the past to boost end-of-quarter numbers.
If you’re planning to buy a Tesla in June, keep a close eye on expiration dates like June 16th for current financing rates. Also, remember that Tesla often restricts combining incentives. For example, if you lock in a 1.99% financing rate, you likely won’t be able to snag an inventory discount later. Plan accordingly and decide which incentive matters most to you.
Now that you’re thinking about buying a Tesla (or if you’ve already got one), did you know they come with zero accessories? Not even a phone mount! Don’t worry—I’ve got you covered with some must-have accessories from my partner, Jowua. Here are a few essentials every Tesla owner needs:
