Hey everyone, welcome back to another update from DennisCW! I’m thrilled to dive into today’s hot topic: the first sighting of inventory discounts on the brand new Tesla Model Y. Plus, I’ve got predictions on future discounts, insights on Tesla news, and some valuable tips for prospective buyers. Let’s get started!
Thanks to a tip from Oruren in our super secret Discord (check the link in the description to join), we’ve spotted the first notable discount on a Tesla Model Y. This demo vehicle, a Long Range All-Wheel Drive in Tucson, Arizona, was listed with a $540 discount. Here are the details:
Unfortunately, this specific deal is already gone—someone snapped it up fast! While $540 isn’t a massive saving, it’s still a nice perk if you’re already in the market. Personally, I’d pass on this one unless I was at a delivery center and they offered it on the spot. With 1,282 miles, I’d hope for a discount closer to $1,282 to make it a no-brainer.
This vehicle was likely a test drive or demo unit, and I predict we’ll see more of these inventory discounts popping up. Historically, Tesla ramps up discounts toward the end of each month, especially in the second week of May and as we approach the end of the quarter. So, if you’re on the hunt for a deal, keep checking the Tesla inventory page!
Pro Tip: Use a Tesla referral code (like mine in the description) when ordering to get 3 months of Full Self-Driving (FSD) added to your vehicle. Also, if you’re looking for financing, Model 3 offers 0% interest, and Model Y is at 1.99%—sweet deals to lock in now.
What do you think of this $540 discount? Would you jump on it? Let me know in the comments!
As we move through Q2 and into the final month of the quarter, I’m confident we’ll see more discounted Tesla Model Ys and other models. Tesla often uses price cuts and promotional offers to boost demand, especially when inventory builds up. With the economy, tariffs, and other factors at play, lowering prices might be the key to moving vehicles. So, if you’re patient, waiting until the end of Q3 or Q4 could yield the best deals of the year. Mark your calendars!
In other exciting news, we got a behind-the-scenes look at Tesla’s factory through a Fox segment with Elon Musk. It’s wild to see vehicles driving off the factory lot with no one inside—autonomous tech in action! Additionally, a concept for a Cyber Model S has surfaced. Could this hint at a Model S refresh? I’m curious to hear your thoughts on whether the Model S is next in line for an update.
If you’re planning to finance a Tesla, there’s one crucial step you must take: protect your credit. Data breaches, like the recent one at Bank of America (where customers weren’t notified for a month), can expose your personal information for up to 277 days on average before you’re even aware. That’s why I use Aura, today’s sponsor, to safeguard my data.
Aura scans the dark web for my personal info, reduces spam calls, removes my data from sketchy broker sites, and offers $5 million in identity theft insurance—all in one clean app. Try Aura free for 14 days at aura.com/denniscw (link in the description). Don’t wait until it’s too late—protect your credit before applying for financing. I’m doing it, and you should too!
Shifting gears to the Cybertruck, there’s a lot of inventory to clear, especially 2024 models that don’t qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit (unlike the 2025s). Tesla might need to offer deeper discounts—potentially beyond the current $8,000 off—or introduce perks like free Supercharging to move these units. Foundation Series Cybertrucks are also sitting in inventory, creating a pricing dilemma. I’m watching closely for lease loopholes or further price adjustments. What would it take for you to buy a Cybertruck? Let me know!
Used Tesla prices are dropping fast—six times faster than the overall market, with a 7.3% decline in resale value compared to 1.1% for other vehicles. Cybertruck values have halved in just a year! This raises the question: should you buy used or new?
Here’s a quick comparison for a Tesla Model Y:
The $8,000 difference might be worth it for the peace of mind of a new vehicle, but it depends on your situation. If you go used, especially for high-mileage or older models, I recommend a warranty. Check out Amber, our channel partner, for month-to-month Tesla coverage starting at $65/month (link in the description for a no-obligation quote).
If you’re looking for the lowest out-of-pocket cost, consider leasing a Model 3. Right now, you can get a zero-down, 24-month lease for $349/month (total cost over 2 years: $8,626). In California, a friend of mine secured a similar deal for just $265/month! Even better, if you don’t qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit due to income limits, leasing applies the credit as a discount—netting you about $6,000 of the $7,500 after fees. It’s a fantastic loophole to test the waters with a Tesla at a low monthly cost.
Did you know a new Tesla comes with zero accessories? Not even a phone mount! That’s why I’ve partnered with Jowua to bring you must-have Tesla accessories like phone mounts, center console organizers, and my favorite, an invisible underscreen storage mount. They also offer cool extras like wireless game controllers and portable air compressors. Use my promo code in the description to save money and get free shipping on orders over $120. Check them out!
A huge thanks to everyone dropping by the stream—Blueberry, Money Jam, Sleepy, Kels, Mr. G, U-Haul, and New York’s Finest! I appreciate your support and comments. Special shoutout to New York for saying this channel inspired their Tesla purchase—means the world to me!
