Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you just picked up a shiny new Tesla (or even a used one), congrats! Tesla vehicles are packed with incredible tech, but there are some hidden gems you might not discover right away. In this post, based on my latest video, I'm breaking down three little-known features that can add real value to your driving experience. Tesla even highlighted these on their channels—let's dive in!
One of the most underrated tools is the Battery Health Test, tucked away in the service menu. This diagnostic runs a comprehensive check on your battery's condition, but heads up—it takes almost a full day to complete.
Should you run it? Absolutely, but not too often. I recommend doing it every 10,000 to 20,000 miles. Why bother? Tesla's battery warranty (whether new or used) covers degradation beyond 30%. If it hits that threshold, you could qualify for a replacement battery. Peace of mind for the long haul!
Pro Tip: Access it via Controls > Service > Battery Health Test. Patience is key.
Tired of navigating to the front door of a business when you really need the parking lot behind it? Enter the Pin Drop Navigation Shortcut.
While using the map, simply long-press anywhere to drop a pin for exact destinations. Favorite these spots, and they'll be ready for Full Self-Driving (FSD) or regular nav. It's a game-changer for efficiency!
Pro Tip: Swipe up on the nav screen, drop the pin, and save it to your favorites list.
The left scroll wheel on the steering wheel is highly customizable for quick access. I have mine set to open the glove box (with PIN lock activation) for secure, hands-free retrieval. Other great options:
What do you set yours to? Drop a comment below—I'm curious how you make it work for you!
Pro Tip: Go to Controls > Display > Scroll Wheel Customization to tweak it.
While we're talking Tesla upgrades, check out Jowua accessories. Their center consoles and phone mounts are top-tier—I use the phone mount daily. Use promo code DennisCW for savings, free shipping on qualifying orders, and free returns.

These features might be hidden, but they're powerful. Test them out, tweak your settings, and level up your Tesla game. If you're loving these tips, subscribe to my YouTube channel for more, and let me know in the comments: What's your go-to scroll wheel setting?
Drive safe, DennisCW
