Hey everyone, DennisCW here! I’m beyond excited to share with you an exclusive first look at the interior and menu updates of the 2026 Tesla Model S Long Range refresh. A huge shoutout to Steven for posting these incredible insights after visiting a local showroom. If you’re as hyped as I am about Tesla’s latest innovations, you’re in for a treat. Let’s dive into the details!
One of the most striking updates in the 2026 Model S refresh is the entirely new dynamics page, which mirrors the design language of the Cybertruck. This streamlined approach brings a modern, cohesive feel to the interface. However, it comes with a trade-off—some familiar menus like the suspension height adjustment and control options seem to have been simplified or consolidated into a single, unified menu. While this might take some getting used to for longtime Tesla owners, it does make the user experience more intuitive.
I couldn’t help but notice that the showroom model appears to sport older wheels, which seems a bit out of place on this refreshed design. I’m guessing Tesla will update this in the final production models, but it’s a funny little quirk for now.
One of the standout features of this refresh is the addition of RGB lighting. It’s everywhere—door pockets, footwells, dash, and doors. The LED strips add a vibrant, customizable touch to the cabin. There’s a subtle tilt to the main screen as well, a standard feature in the Model S and Model X, which enhances visibility and comfort for the driver.
Looking at the RGB footwell lights, I couldn’t help but reminisce about my first Honda Civic. Back in the day, I wired my own LED lights with some cathode tubes, and seeing this in a $100,000 Model S feels like a full-circle moment. Of course, Tesla’s implementation is far more polished and seamlessly integrated, but it’s a fun throwback nonetheless. What do you think of this ambient lighting? Does it elevate the luxury feel, or is it a bit over-the-top? Let me know in the comments!
The new menu layout is heavily inspired by the refreshed Model 3 and Model Y, but with some unique additions tailored to the Model S. One highlight is the inclusion of an Insane Speed Mode—a nod to the performance legacy of this flagship sedan. You’ll also find custom drive modes with a variety of settings, including ride and handling preferences like lower or higher ride height. This consolidation of options into a single menu feels like a step toward simplicity without sacrificing functionality.
I’m planning to visit Electrify XO soon to get a hands-on experience with the refreshed Model S and Model X. Unfortunately, during my last visit, we weren’t allowed to hop inside the vehicles, but I’m determined to sit in one and test these features myself. Stay tuned for more updates!
I’ve got to be honest—while the Model S and Model X remain iconic in Tesla’s lineup, I often wonder who’s still buying these premium models amidst the rise of the more affordable Model 3 and Y. That said, if you’re deep in the Tesla ecosystem like I am and crave a luxurious “land yacht” experience with unmatched comfort and performance, the Model S could still be the perfect fit. I’d love to hear your thoughts—are you considering a Model S, or have you already made the leap? Drop your opinions below!
Speaking of Tesla ownership, did you know that your new Tesla comes with zero accessories? Not even a phone mount! Don’t worry, though—I’ve got you covered with some must-have recommendations from our partner, Joah. Here are a few essentials every Tesla owner should consider:
Joah doesn’t stop at the basics. They also offer a wireless game controller (perfectly sized for the glove box), a portable air compressor for peace of mind on road trips, and even an electric scooter to zip around from Superchargers or Level 2 chargers. I personally use and love their products, so you know they’re legit.
