Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you've been eyeing a new Model X, you might have noticed something strange: it appears to be sold out across the US, with only existing demo units left. Multiple folks, including Techie Danny, have posted about this, especially right after Elon Musk announced that Model S and Model X ordering is donezo—no more custom orders.
People rushed to the configurator pages, only to find inventory matches being scooped up fast. Model X Plaids are gone, and used Model S and X prices are surging (along with all Tesla used prices in the last 90 days). Model S inventory is vanishing too.
I've seen this movie before, so put on your conspiracy hat with me. I don't think it's just buyers snapping them up. Check the numbers:
That many vehicles sold in hours? Unlikely. My theory: Tesla is pulling them offline to reprice, tweak configs (like removing the Lux package), or roll them out fresh for end-of-quarter clearance. Makes total sense for pushing Q2 numbers.
