I checked the configurator myself using a California zip code and the bottom of the page now shows that exact window. It was September-October just days ago, so this shift happened fast.
What the Model Y L order timeline update means
This change appears targeted at new orders rather than existing reservations. Early buyers who locked in their Model Y L should still see September dates. The new timeline reflects the current Model Y L production ramp at Giga Texas as they scale output.
I also tested other zip codes and the October-November range stayed consistent. That tells me Tesla is prioritizing showroom vehicles right now so customers can actually see and sit in the Model Y L before the base version launches.
