Hey everyone, DennisCW here! I’m thrilled to share some exciting news for all the Tesla enthusiasts out there. The long-awaited Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) deliveries have officially begun, and we’ve got our first confirmation of a VIN along with an estimated delivery date range. Let’s dive into the details!
A huge shoutout to Calvin for sharing this awesome update with us! I always love it when you guys send me deal structures, payment details, and delivery updates—especially when it’s exciting news like this. Calvin has confirmed a VIN for a Model Y Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive with the following specs:
That’s roughly 2-3 weeks from now, which is incredibly fast! Congrats to Calvin on this milestone, and I can’t wait to see more of these deliveries rolling out.
If you’re in California—whether in Los Angeles or Orange County—and are about to take delivery of a Model Y RWD, I’d love to join you! Hit me up if you’re picking one up soon; I’d be stoked to check it out with you and share the experience with the community. Drop me a DM if you’re in the area!
Tesla has also added a filter for the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive option on their inventory page. This is a clear sign that more RWD inventory is on the way, and with that, we might see some sweet discounts. For example, there’s already an $830 discount on an All-Wheel Drive Model Y in inventory. So, if you’ve been holding out for a Rear-Wheel Drive and are planning to pay cash (leasing or financing deals aren’t looking too great right now), now could be the perfect time to snag a deal.
Pro Tip: Don’t forget to use a Tesla referral code when you purchase! You can find mine in the description below to get 3 months of Full Self-Driving (FSD) added to your Tesla. It’s a small way to save more and support the channel.
One thing I’ve noticed—and I’m not sure if you’ve picked up on this too—is that the Model Y RWD was launched around May 6th, and the estimated delivery window has consistently remained at 3-5 weeks. It’s a bit odd that Tesla hasn’t updated this timeline. Maybe they’re gauging demand, or perhaps they set a conservative estimate from the start. Either way, it’s interesting to see actual deliveries starting to align with these projections. What do you think about this? Let me know in the comments!
While we’re on the topic of new Tesla purchases, let’s talk about something that doesn’t come with your shiny new Model Y: a set of all-weather floor mats. If you’re looking for the best option out there, I’ve got you covered. After testing various brands like 3D Maxpider, Tesmanian, and several Amazon options, my absolute favorite is the 3W Liners All-Weather Floor Mats.
I’ve got them in my Model X, Model 3, Model Y, and even my Cybertruck, and they’re hands-down the best in terms of fit, durability, and style. Right now, you can use the promo code in the description to save 25% off and get a set for under $100. Plus, you’ll be supporting the channel, which means a lot to me. Check out the link below!
Bonus Update: 3W Liners just released their 2026 Juniper set of floor mats, and I’ve already got mine. Spoiler alert (or TL;DR): the fitment is perfect. I’ve got a video coming soon to show you all the details. And here’s an exclusive deal for my viewers—if you use the promo code Dennis35, you’ll get 35% off, which is even better than the standard 25% website offer. Don’t miss out; the link is in the description!
The start of Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive deliveries is a big moment for Tesla fans, and I’m excited to see more of these hitting the roads soon. With inventory building up and potential discounts on the horizon, now might be the ideal time to jump in if you’ve been waiting for the RWD option.
