Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you're like me and you've got a Tesla Cybertruck, staying connected on the road is a must—especially with Starlink for that reliable internet no matter where your adventures take you. But mounting it securely can be a challenge. That's where Unplugged Performance comes in with their awesome Starlink mounts designed specifically for the Cybertruck. In my latest video, I dove into these two options while on a road trip, and I wanted to break it down for you in this blog post. Let's get into it!
First off, if you're hauling your Starlink dish around in a Cybertruck, you know the struggle of finding a stable, unobstructed spot. A clear view to the sky is crucial for optimal signal, and you don't want anything blocking those satellites. I've tried suction cup mounts on the windshield before, but they can obstruct your view and aren't as heavy-duty as I'd like. Enter Unplugged Performance—their mounts are machined from high-quality materials, super durable, and tailored for the Cybertruck's unique design. Whether you're setting up at base camp or just need internet on the go, these make life easier.
This one's my initial favorite because it keeps everything outside and doesn't interfere with the tonneau cover. It's perfect if you want to mount the dish on the side of the truck for a clean, unobstructed view.
The result? A heavy-duty setup that looks sleek and ensures nothing blocks the sky. No more fumbling with temporary mounts—this one's built to last, even on bumpy roads.
Pro tip: Excuse the road trip mess in my video; real life happens!
If you prefer keeping things inside the truck bed (on what I call the 'Elra' rail—think bed rail system), this mount is a solid choice. It's great for when you're at a campsite and can leave the tonneau partially open.
I haven't fully committed yet, but this one could be ideal if you want the dish protected inside the bed. Just note that you'll need to keep the tonneau open a bit, which might not suit every scenario.
Both mounts are incredibly well-made and easy to set up—no complicated tools required. I'm leaning toward the side mount to keep my tonneau closed and maintain that clean Cybertruck aesthetic, but I'll be testing both extensively on this road trip. Stay tuned for a full review in an upcoming video where I'll share speed tests, durability insights, and which one wins out for long-term use.
