Hey everyone, DennisCW here! With the recent introduction of 0% financing for the Tesla Cybertruck, a lot of you have been asking: Which Cybertruck trim or option offers the best deal? In this post, I’m diving into the details, exploring different trims, the mysterious disappearance of the Foundation Series from inventory, and some key considerations to help you decide which Cybertruck is right for you. Let’s break it down!
Tesla recently rolled out an incredible 0% financing offer for the Cybertruck, but there’s a catch—you must include Full Self-Driving (FSD) in your purchase, which adds an $8,000 cost to the package. Additionally, the terms have shifted slightly since the initial announcement. For instance, you can’t put $0 down unless you’re utilizing part of the $7,500 federal tax credit. Otherwise, a down payment of around 5% (or about $5,000) is required to qualify for 0% financing over 60 months. If you stretch it to 72 months, the rate bumps up to 0.99%, which is still pretty competitive but something to keep in mind.
If you’re buying a new Tesla Cybertruck, this financing deal could save you a significant amount over time, but the upfront costs and requirements are crucial to factor into your decision.
Let’s talk about the Foundation Series All-Wheel Drive (AWD) Cybertruck for a moment. This trim seemed like the ultimate deal because it comes with Full Self-Driving included, a $10,000 discount, free lifetime Supercharging, and additional Foundation Series-exclusive bits and trims. When you consider the value of free Supercharging over 5 to 10 years, it could add up to $1,000–$2,000 in savings per year. Combine that with a $10,000 discount and 0% financing, and it’s no wonder many of you reached out to me saying you were considering this option.
However, something strange happened. Just the other day, there was plenty of Foundation Series inventory available, and then—poof!—they disappeared. I’ve received tons of comments and DMs from viewers asking if Tesla is hiding these units or if they truly sold out. Did people finally realize this was the best deal and snatch them up? If you’re lucky enough to live in an area where a discounted Foundation Series is still available, I’d say jump on it—especially if you plan to take full advantage of the free Supercharging every year.
If the Foundation Series is out of reach, don’t worry—there are still some solid deals on other Cybertruck trims. For example, in certain zip codes, I’ve seen AWD Cybertrucks with discounts of up to $8,500. While that’s not as steep as the Foundation Series discount, it’s still a significant saving. If you qualify for a business credit, that could sweeten the deal even further.
That said, I’d caution against opting for a discounted 2024 model with mileage on it. For just a small price difference (around $1,000), you could likely get a brand-new 2025 Cybertruck and finance it at 0%. In my opinion, the newer model is worth the slight bump in cost for the long-term value.
Before you pull the trigger on a Tesla Cybertruck, here are a few things to keep in mind:
