Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you've been following my YouTube channel, you know I'm all about diving deep into the world of Tesla – from inventory updates to the latest EV trends. In my most recent video, I swung by one of my go-to Tesla inventory lots in California, and let me tell you, it was a sight to behold. Usually, these places are packed wall-to-wall with shiny new Model 3s, Model Ys, and even the occasional Cybertruck. But this time? It's like half the lot vanished overnight. Stick around as I break down what I saw, why it's happening, and what it means for you if you're eyeing a new Tesla.
For those who've watched my previous videos on Tesla inventory, you know these lots are typically overflowing. We're talking rows upon rows of vehicles ready for delivery or sitting in wait. This particular spot in California is massive – it can hold hundreds of cars easily. But on this visit, it was shockingly empty, about 50% bare. And get this: some of the spots weren't even filled with Teslas! I spotted a bunch of employee vehicles and off-brand makes parked there, probably just to utilize the space. It's clear Tesla is moving inventory fast, and they're not wasting any real estate.
I've been to this lot multiple times before, and it's always been a sea of Teslas. Seeing it this sparse was pretty crazy – a real testament to how the market is heating up.
The big culprit here is the end of Quarter 3 rush. Tesla buyers in California (and honestly, everywhere) love their Model Ys and Model 3s, and with incentives on the line, people are snapping them up left and right. If you're in the market for a new Tesla, time is ticking! That juicy $7,500 federal tax credit for qualifying Model 3 and Model Y purchases is wrapping up soon, and folks are rushing to lock it in before it's gone.
This isn't just speculation – I saw it firsthand. Vehicles are being loaded and dropped off rapidly, likely heading straight to eager new owners. It's all about that delivery push to close out the quarter strong. If you've been on the fence, now's the time to act because these deals won't last.
Even with the emptiness, there were still some gems to spot. We had a solid lineup of Model 3s and Model Ys hanging around, but one standout was this emerald green beauty. At first glance, I thought it might be a custom paint job, but nope – it's a wrap. And a killer one at that! The reflection and finish were top-notch, giving it a premium, eye-catching vibe. It's awesome to see owners (or maybe Tesla itself) getting creative right off the bat.
I didn't venture too far in – I've learned my lesson from past visits where I got yelled at for getting too close. These areas are active zones for loading and prepping deliveries, so safety first!
I'm super curious to swing back by on the first day of October and see if this lot turns into a ghost town. Will the rush continue, or will inventory start piling up again? Stay tuned to my channel for the update – I'll be documenting it all.
If you're thinking about jumping into the Tesla world, don't sleep on these end-of-quarter deals. Head over to Tesla's site, check your eligibility for incentives, and get that order in.
