Hey everyone, Dennis here from DennisCW! If you're a Tesla enthusiast like me, you're always on the lookout for the latest developments from Elon and the team. In this blog post, based on my recent video, we're diving into an exciting spotting of a front bumper camera cover on the Model 3, plus a roundup of other Tesla news, tips, and deals. Whether you're waiting for your delivery or just geeking out over EV tech, there's something here for you. Let's jump in!
First up, the big news: We've got a spotting of a front bumper camera cover on a 2025 Model 3 Performance built on August 21st. This was shared on Tesla Motors Club, and shoutout to Edson for tipping me off early. It's not the actual camera yet, but the notch is there on Performance models arriving at service centers—while Long Range and Standard Range versions don't have it.
If you're picking up a Model 3 right now and spot this, it could mean Tesla is prepping for an easy retrofit. Imagine heading to your local service center for a quick install! This might roll out first on the Performance variant, given its premium positioning and higher margins. It ties into recent delays for some Model 3s, hinting that Tesla might be holding back to avoid delaying orders into the next quarter.
What do you think? If a front bumper camera becomes official, would it push you to order ASAP or wait? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!
Model Y Prototype in the Bay Area: A disguised prototype was seen with new wheels (looking like Model 3 style), a painted rear insert, no rear light bar, and a glossy black wrap over what might be a missing glass roof. Could this be teasing the upcoming Model Y Performance, a six-seater for the US, or an affordable variant in Q4?
All-Black Optimus Robot: At a recent Tesla Diner owner event, an all-black autonomous robot was spotted serving popcorn. It's sleek, with the Tesla Diner logo on its chest. Super cool—let me know if you attended or what you think of this design!
Before we move on, a quick word from our sponsor, Aura. If you're planning to finance your Tesla, protecting your credit is crucial. Recent breaches like Bank of America's (which they didn't report for a month!) show how vulnerable your info can be. Aura scans the dark web for your data, reduces spam calls, removes your info from broker sites, and offers $5 million in identity theft insurance—all in one app.

You've probably seen ads for $4,000–$5,000 off Cybertrucks, but dig deeper: Many are lease-only, and the math doesn't always add up. For example, a base model leases at $699/month with no discount, while a $5,000-off version (with 4,000 miles) is only $663/month—that's just $36 less! Plus, Cybertruck is the only Tesla with 0% financing (if you add Full Self-Driving).
If you're eyeing FSD for half off on a pending delivery, DM me on Instagram for details. What are your thoughts on these deals? Planning to snag a Cybertruck soon?
New Tesla? It comes with zero accessories—not even a phone mount! Here are my must-haves from our partner Jowah:
They also offer a wireless game controller, portable air compressor, and even an electric scooter for supercharger strolls. Use our promo code in the description for savings and free shipping on orders over $120. I use their stuff daily—check it out!
Shoutout to Tes Bros for debunking PPF myths that could save you thousands:
Colored PPF isn't as protective as clear: Wrong! Tests show it offers the same 7–10 year durability, self-healing, and scratch resistance.
Bubbles mean bad installation: Not always—78% are from moisture and fix themselves as the film cures (similar to tint).
Maintenance is complicated: Nope, just three simple steps keep it looking great.
If you're DIY-inclined, Tes Bros has kits for clear and colored PPF—use our link for a discount. For most owners, I recommend at least front bumper PPF if you highway drive a lot (especially on leases to avoid rock chips). Tint is a must for UV protection and privacy.
Tesla partners with XPEL for tint, but you're better off choosing your installer. In LA, try Unplugged Performance (fill out the form for a Dennis deal). In OC, OC Tint Solutions or 24K Shine—both have handled my cars. DM them for quotes!
Elon tweeted about the AI5 chip: "Just had a great design review... This is going to be an epic chip." AI6 will follow, focusing all talent on one architecture for better results. If you're into chip design that saves lives (milliseconds matter!), join Tesla's team.
ETA? Likely a couple of years. Don't wait to buy—there's always something new around the corner. If you need a car now, go for it!
Don't forget all-weather floor mats—my fave is from 3W Liners (lifetime warranty, fits Model 3/Y/X/Cybertruck). Use code DENNIS35 for 35% off and get a set under $100.
Inventory is sparse in places like California, so if you're ordering, use a referral code (like mine in the description) and expect mid-September deliveries. Drop your EDD in the comments!
