I dropped off my Model Y for the four-door soft close kit. This feature is straight out of luxury brands like BMW and Mercedes – where doors gently pull themselves closed with a satisfying suction if you don't latch them fully. Super excited to bring this to my Tesla!

The Intensive Install Process

They warned me upfront: this isn't a quick DIY. The full four-door kit takes 5-6 hours. Here's why:

• One module per door (front and rear).
• Full door disassembly: remove door cards, speakers, glass, and access the latch mechanism.
• Tesla updates panels yearly, so even on the 2026 Model Y Performance, they adapt on the fly.
