Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you've been stressing over Tesla yanking your hard-earned option credit or inventory discount from your pending order, this is your PSA. I've been getting messages from folks like you saying their orders – placed before February 2nd – suddenly lost that sweet $1,000 to $2,000 discount, along with their VIN assignment. What gives?
It turns out Tesla is removing VINs and discounts from some pre-February 2nd orders. No clear cutoff said you had to take delivery by then – just place the order. But reports are flooding in:
"Getting multiple reports that Tesla is removing VINs from their pending orders that were placed before Feb 2 with the $1,000 to $2,000 option credit also removed. VINs being stripped."
Frustrating, right? Especially if it auto-unmatches in the early morning without warning. Wouldn't it be nice if they asked, "Hey, want this faster delivery vehicle... but you'll lose your $2K discount?"
The silver lining? We got a direct response from Alex at Tesla:
"You won't lose a price adjustment unless you unmatch from a specific vehicle inventory VIN. Message your advisor in the Tesla app SMS and it will be reviewed case by case."
Boom! Tesla's acknowledging it and promising case-by-case reviews. No more automatic discount wipeouts – if you play it smart.
If you're in this boat:
It might have unmatched to speed up delivery, but you deserve the choice – and the discount!
While you're waiting on that order fix, upgrade your ride with some killer accessories. My top pick? Joah accessories – especially their center consoles and this phone mount I use every time on Full Self-Driving.
Check out Joah now and use promo code Dennis for free shipping and free returns! (Link in the description below.)
Stay charged, Tesla fam. Drop a comment if this helped or if you've gotten your discount back – let's keep each other posted!
