Hey everyone, DennisCW here. Welcome back to another deep dive into all things Tesla. Today's post is based on my recent video where we covered some crucial updates, especially around the $7,500 federal tax credit. It's a weird time with everything going on—my thoughts and prayers go out to Charlie Kirk and his family during this tough situation. But let's push through and talk Tesla, deal hacking, and more. If you're eyeing a Model 3, Model Y, or any qualifying Tesla, this could be the deciding factor for your purchase.
Before we jump in, a quick shoutout: We've got an exciting giveaway running for Tesla robots—enter now via the link below (less than a week left!). Tesla recently updated their website with new verbiage: "Taking delivery by September 30th is the surest way to secure the credit at point of sale." This has everyone buzzing. Based on IRS guidance, if you have a deposit and binding contract before the deadline, you might still qualify—even if delivery slips into October.
Here's my take: Automakers like Tesla don't want to front the $7,500 at point of sale if rules change. If your delivery gets pushed, you could claim the credit via your tax return instead. That means paying full price upfront (e.g., $45,000–$49,000 for a Model Y) and getting the refund in April 2026. It's still $7,500 back, but only if you meet income limits.
Pros: You get the money eventually. Cons: Higher upfront financing costs—payments could jump $100–$150/month without the instant discount. If you're banking on point-of-sale savings, this might be a deal-breaker.
My advice? Order now if you're serious. Many sites still show September 2024 deliveries (not 2025—typo in the transcript!). Use my Tesla referral code below for 3 months of Full Self-Driving (FSD) free. If you're flexible on colors/options, that could help secure delivery. What do you think? Is this a deal-breaker? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
In other news, the Model Y Long Range is sold out for October, with deliveries pushing into November. This beast looks amazing for camping—seats fold flat for a full bed setup. If it hits the US, it'll be a game-changer for adventure seekers.
Crazy story: A friend got approved for a Model Y with just $29,000 annual income! Good credit (750+) helped, but the rate was 7.75%. Fixing the income bumped it to 3.99%. Tesla's financing is flexible—use their pre-qualify tool (soft inquiry) or put down a deposit for the real deal.
Pro tip: Protect your credit first. Bank breaches happen (looking at you, Bank of America). That's where Aura shines—scans the dark web, reduces spam, and offers $5M identity theft insurance. Try it free for 14 days at aura.com/denniscw.
Elon Musk dropped bombs: Hardware 5 (AI5) is 40x better in some metrics than AI4. FSD v14 (end of year) will make your car feel "sentient"—biggest upgrade since v12. Can't wait for improvements on Model Y and Cybertruck.
Quick hack: Manually trigger software updates by checking your vehicle's screen (on Wi-Fi). New features include lock alerts, mobile access disable, and sentry mode lighting.
Lucid's launching their $80K Gravity SUV later this year—third-row seating, spacious, and a potential Rivian/EV9 rival. Off-road version coming next year too. Exciting times for EVs!
New Tesla? It comes with zero accessories. Grab essentials from Jowua: phone mounts, organizers, and more. Use my promo code for savings and free shipping over $120. For floor mats, 3W Liners are my fave—lifetime warranty, perfect fit. Use "Dennis35" for 35% off!
Cybertruck inventory discounts are hitting (e.g., $3K off AWD models). Leases start at $665/month with $5K down—not bad, but could drop. No big changes expected before September 30th with 0% financing available.
