Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you're a Tesla owner or thinking about joining the EV revolution, I've got some exciting updates from my latest video. We're diving into the recent price changes for Tesla's wall connectors, plus some must-have accessories to make your Tesla experience even better. Let's break it down.
Great news for those looking to charge multiple EVs at home: the Tesla Universal Wall Connector has dropped from $650 to $600—a solid $50 discount! This charger was as low as $550 at one point before climbing to $650, so this reduction is a welcome change.
I highly recommend the Universal Wall Connector, especially if you're in a multi-EV household. It's versatile and future-proof. That said, more brands are switching to the NACS plug over the traditional J-plug, which might influence your decision. We have one ourselves because of our Cybertruck's PowerShare functionality, which lets you backfeed energy from the truck to your home. Fingers crossed this feature expands to other vehicles soon! (Note: We haven't unlocked it yet due to our Powerwall setup.)
On the flip side, the popular standard NACS Wall Connector has seen a bump from $420 to $450—a $30 increase. It's not a huge jump, but remember, prices have been creeping up over time. This could signal high demand as more people buy Teslas, or it might be due to rising material costs. Either way, if you're picking up a new Tesla, this is still the minimum I'd recommend for home charging—it's reliable and efficient.
If you're in the SoCal/LA area and need a pro to install your charger, I can't recommend my friend Mario at Smart Plug EV enough. He's a Tesla-authorized installer and an expert on local incentives. You could qualify for thousands in rebates—like $4,000 to $6,000 for panel upgrades—which might even get you a free EV charger!
Reach out to Mario via DM on Instagram, his website, or give him a call. Mention the "Dennis deal" so he knows you're from the channel, and he might hook you up with some great incentives for your wall charger install.
