Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you've been following my YouTube channel, you know I'm all about scoring the best deals on Teslas and EV life. In my latest video, I shared an incredible tip from one of our community members, Krishna, who managed to snag 1.99% financing on his Model Y—even after the promotion officially ended. Today, I'm breaking it down in this blog post, plus some other exciting updates on EV incentives, accessories, and more. Let's dive in!
First off, a huge shoutout to Krishna for sharing his screenshots and story. He ordered his Model Y on June 28th, the last day of Q2 when 1.99% financing was still available. Even though his delivery was in August, he was able to lock in that sweet rate for up to 72 months. That's way better than the current offers—3.49% for 60 months or 4.99% for 72 months on the Model Y.
Tesla initially quoted him 5.59%, but Krishna didn't settle. If you placed an order during the 1.99% promo period (even if you canceled and reordered), you might still qualify. Here's how Krishna did it:
Krishna's delivery happened just recently, and he even sent me pics of his new ride. If you've got a similar story or scored a killer deal, DM me—I'd love to feature it and help others replicate it. This is a PSA: It doesn't hurt to ask! If you're in that early order window, give it a shot.
Switching gears, Unplugged Performance just launched their new rewards program. If you're into aftermarket Tesla mods, sign up via the link in my video description for promotions and perks. They're also hosting an open house tomorrow—RSVP for free and snag some swag. Check the description for details!
We've talked a lot about buying Teslas, but what about charging at home? I chatted with Mario from Smartplug EV today—he's installing a charger for a friend in North Hollywood. Pro tip: In LA, you can get up to $1,000 for installing a charger. If you're in Southern California (like Orange County), there are incentives up to $4,000 for panel upgrades if your setup needs more capacity.
Mario is a Tesla-authorized installer, which means better warranty coverage. Hit him up and mention the "Dennis deal" for a hookup. Links in the video description!
Once you've got your Tesla, remember—it comes with zero accessories. Not even a phone mount! Here are my top picks from our partner Joah (I use their stuff daily):
They've got more: a wireless game controller that fits in the glovebox, a portable air compressor for road trips, and even an electric scooter for those walks from chargers. Use my promo code in the description for savings and free shipping on orders over $120. Thanks to Joah for supporting the channel!
From Krishna's story, we've learned Tesla will honor promo rates if you ordered before they ended. With current deals like 3.49% on Model Y and 0% on Model 3, it might be smart to place an order now to lock in your spot—and the rate. Tesla's CFO mentioned dialing back incentives, but they'd likely give notice before changes.
Don't forget: Use a Tesla referral code (like mine in the description) for 3 months of Full Self-Driving. If you're buying FSD anyway, it supports the channel—thanks to everyone who's used it!
What do you think? Have you scored a similar financing deal? Drop your thoughts in the comments, and if this helped, share it with fellow Tesla fans. Stay charged, and I'll see you in the next video!
