Hey everyone, DennisCW here! I recently had the chance to attend an incredible electric vehicle (EV) car meet in Long Beach, California, hosted by SoCal EV. If you’re an EV enthusiast or just curious about the electric vehicle scene, you’re in for a treat. In this blog post, I’m taking you along for the ride to show you the highlights of this amazing event. From jaw-dropping Tesla mods to unique Cybertrucks and a variety of other EVs, there was so much to see. Let’s dive in!
Before we even arrived at the event, I wanted to give a quick shoutout to one of my favorite gadgets on the road – the Joa Apple Watch and AirPods charger. Even on a short 20-30 minute drive, this fast charger gets my Apple Watch powered up while I’m just sitting in the car. It’s been a game-changer for me, so if you’re in the market for a reliable charger, definitely check it out!
Once we pulled up to the Long Beach location, the excitement kicked in. This wasn’t just a Tesla meetup – though there were plenty of Teslas to admire. The SoCal EV event showcased a wide range of electric vehicles, including Lucids, Fords, Rivians, and of course, the iconic Cybertrucks. I was particularly hoping to spot a Lucid Gravity in person, but unfortunately, it didn’t make an appearance this time.
The event had two main areas: a spectator entrance for casual attendees like myself, and a car show competition for those showcasing their rides. The variety of vehicles and modifications on display was absolutely mind-blowing. Since EVs don’t offer much in terms of engine or exhaust mods, owners go all out with visual customizations. We’re talking slammed Model 3s, vibrant color wraps, unique rims, and some seriously creative designs.
Let me walk you through some of the standout vehicles that caught my eye:
What made this car meet extra special was the presence of vendors and community members. There were booths for bike companies, charging solutions, tire services, and accessories. I even ran into my friend Mario from Smart Plug EV – always great to catch up with familiar faces in the EV space. The community vibe was strong, with enthusiasts sharing tips, showing off their mods, and just geeking out over electric vehicles together.
One thing that struck me at this event is how EV owners channel their creativity. Without the ability to tweak engine sounds or performance in the same way you can with gas-powered cars, the focus shifts to aesthetics. Whether it’s a wild wrap, custom wheels, or quirky add-ons (like a Cybertruck with a literal TV on top), the customization game in the EV world is on another level. I’d love to hear your thoughts – what do you think of some of these mods? Drop a comment below with your favorite!
The SoCal EV car meet in Long Beach was an unforgettable experience. From the sheer variety of electric vehicles to the creativity of the owners, it was a testament to how vibrant and passionate the EV community is. While I didn’t get to see a Lucid Gravity, I left inspired by the innovation and camaraderie on display. If you ever get the chance to attend an EV meetup like this, I highly recommend it – whether you’re an owner or just a fan of the technology.
Thanks for joining me on this journey! If you enjoyed this post, be sure to check out the full video on my YouTube channel for even more footage from the event.
