Hey everyone, DennisCW here! I’m thrilled to bring you the latest scoop on Tesla’s upcoming releases. June is shaping up to be an incredibly exciting month for Tesla enthusiasts, and I’ve got some juicy details to share about a mysterious new Tesla model spotted testing in the US. Plus, I’ll be sharing my top accessory recommendations for Tesla owners. Let’s dive in!
Recently, a drone video surfaced on YouTube showing a covered Tesla vehicle testing at the Fremont test track. From the zoomed-in footage, it appears to be a Model Y variant, though the front and back are completely covered, making it hard to pinpoint exact details. Could this be the much-anticipated Model Y Performance, or perhaps even a compact or affordable version of the Model Y? The speculation is running wild!
Given that it was spotted on a test track, it’s likely Tesla is evaluating performance metrics like 0-60 times, handling, or turning capabilities. Some fans, like Mark, think it looks like a standard Model Y, but the covered sections suggest potential design tweaks—perhaps a performance spoiler on the rear or a lower front spoiler, similar to what we’ve seen on the Model 3 Performance.
Others in the Tesla community have theorized it could be a shorter Model Y, while some believe it’s definitely the Performance variant. I’m leaning toward the latter, but we’ll have to wait for official confirmation from Tesla. What do you think this mystery vehicle could be? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
Adding to the speculation, Jeff Lutz recently shared an insightful post about Tesla’s future lineup. He argues that the rumored affordable Tesla won’t just be a stripped-down Model Y with cloth seats or a smaller screen. Instead, Jeff believes Tesla will release one or two new vehicles over the next year that leverage the Model Y’s popularity and Giga factory investments while targeting different segments and sizes. These vehicles might incorporate modules from Tesla’s next-gen platform for cost efficiency and scalability ahead of the CyberCab.
While Tesla could still release a feature-reduced Model Y, Jeff emphasizes that the affordable vehicle mentioned in Tesla’s earnings reports is likely something entirely new. I tend to agree that Tesla isn’t just going to “dumb down” the Model Y—they’re known for innovation, after all. With the Model S and Model X refreshes also on the horizon, plus the upcoming RoboTaxi launch, Tesla seems to be playing it safe with features for now. But I’m reserving judgment until we see these vehicles officially unveiled. What are your predictions for Tesla’s next big release?
Now, let’s switch gears to something equally exciting for Tesla owners or soon-to-be owners—accessories! Whether you’ve just bought your Tesla or are about to, accessorizing your ride is the next step to making it truly yours. There are tons of options out there (maybe even too many), so I’ve narrowed it down to my top three must-have Tesla accessories: phone mounts, all-weather floor mats, and center consoles.
If I had to pick just one accessory to recommend, it would be a good set of all-weather floor mats. They’re essential for protecting your Tesla’s interior from dirt, mud, and spills, especially if you live in a rainy or snowy area. I’ve categorized my recommendations into three tiers:
A reliable phone mount is a game-changer for hands-free navigation and calls. It’s a small addition that makes a big difference in convenience and safety. Check out the links below for my top picks!
Tesla doesn’t include a center console with their vehicles, which can leave your interior feeling a bit bare. I highly recommend the center console from Jowua, which we use on all our Teslas. It adds functionality and style to your cabin. You can find a link to it, along with discount codes, in the description and on page two of our Best Deals spreadsheet.
I’ve compiled all my recommended accessories, complete with links and discounts, in the description of my video and on our spreadsheet. A huge thank you to everyone who has used our links to support the channel—it means the world to me!
With so much happening in the Tesla world—from the mysterious Model Y variant spotted at Fremont to the buzz around affordable Teslas and upcoming launches like the RoboTaxi, Model S, and Model X—there’s never been a more exciting time to be a Tesla fan. I can’t wait to see what Tesla has in store for us in the coming months.
What are your thoughts on the mystery Tesla spotted testing? Do you think it’s the Model Y Performance, a compact version, or something else entirely? And if you’ve recently bought a Tesla, which accessories are on your wishlist? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear from you!
Until next time, keep charging ahead!
