Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you've been following the EV market like I have, you know prices have been all over the place. We've talked a lot about Tesla depreciation, but I recently stumbled upon something that blew my mind: Rivian prices are crashing hard too. I mean, I hadn't realized just how steep the drops have been until I spotted this deal. Let's dive in.
Picture this: a 2022 Rivian R1T Launch Edition listed for just $39,500. That's right – a truck that's only a couple of years old, with all the bells and whistles that come with being one of the first off the line. It has a mere 17,893 miles on it, which is incredibly low for its age. For context, that's about the price of a brand-new Tesla Model 3 or Model Y. If you're paying cash, this could be an absolute steal compared to buying new.
Of course, financing changes the game with current interest rates, but still – this got me curious. What's the cheapest Rivian out there right now? After a quick search, it turns out this one might actually be the lowest-priced in the country. Most others are hovering in the $40K to $50K range, but many of those have way higher mileage – some pushing 100,000 miles.
Something feels off about this particular deal. With such low miles, why is it priced so aggressively? Could there be an accident history, some mechanical issue, or is the seller just desperate to move it? It's worth digging into the details if you're interested – always check the Carfax or get a pre-purchase inspection.
We all know EVs depreciate quickly, and Rivian is no exception. Tesla gets a lot of the spotlight for this, but it's happening across the board. Personally, the Rivian R1T isn't my driving style – I prefer something a bit different – but I can see why it'd appeal to a ton of people, especially truck enthusiasts looking for an electric option.
What do you think? Is this a hidden gem or a red flag? Drop your thoughts in the comments below – I'd love to hear if anyone's snagged a similar deal or has insights on Rivian values.
Shifting gears a bit – if you've already got your Tesla (or are about to), you might be surprised to learn it comes with zero accessories. Not even a basic phone mount! But don't sweat it; I've got some recommendations that every Tesla owner should consider.
