Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you're a Tesla owner like me, you've probably been dreaming of the day Apple CarPlay makes its way into our vehicles. Recently, a video surfaced that had me super excited—it looked like a genuine leak of Apple CarPlay integration in Tesla. But after digging deeper, I have to break the news: it's not official... yet. It's actually a clever hack! Let me break it down for you.
The clip shows a crystal-clear button on the left side of the Tesla screen. One click, and boom—an Apple CarPlay-style menu pops up. It looks seamless, smooth, and totally integrated. I have to admit, my first reaction was pure hype: "Is this the future?" Shoutout to all of you who tagged me in this—thanks for keeping me in the loop!
(Imagine that slick menu here!)
It had all the hallmarks of an official update. But here's the twist...
This isn't a Tesla software leak. It's a DIY mod using an HDMI converter. You install it inside the center console or under the glove box, do some wiring (it's complicated, fair warning), and suddenly you get an icon on your screen for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
Big props to our friend Robert Rosenfeld—he's got tons of tutorials on YouTube showing exactly how to pull this off. Check his channel if you're feeling adventurous. It's impressive what Tesla hackers can do!
Is it worth it? If you're dying for CarPlay and don't mind the install, maybe. But official integration would be a game-changer—no wires, no hassle.
