Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you're in the market for a Tesla, today is a critical day. Some major incentives, like the option credit upgrade, are coming to an end today, February 2nd. But don't worry—I'm breaking it all down for you, including how to maximize your savings right now and my predictions on what's coming next. Let's dive in!
The big one wrapping up is the option upgrade credit on eligible inventory Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. We're talking $2,000 to $4,000 off on popular models like the Model Y. Prices on Tesla's online inventory and brochure already reflect this deduction—no substitutions allowed.
Inventory Model Ys are seeing the juiciest discounts right now—$3,000 to $4,000 off. Order by today to lock it in, but note delivery takes 2-3 weeks.
Tesla loves end-of-quarter pushes (think late March for Q1). Two years ago, they'd wait until the very end. Now, they roll out better deals mid-quarter, like February. This "ordered by Feb 2nd" deadline? It's strategic—they know delivery lags, so new incentives might drop late February without overlapping too much.
They won't want buyers stacking deals, so expect a 1-2 week gap post-Feb 2nd to clear current orders.
Here's what I see coming:
Model Y Performance demand is strong, so incentives might focus on base or Model 3 Performance.
Exciting times ahead! The Model Y Long Range (L) is coming to the US, but not next month—likely later, with 2-4 month waits (similar to last year's Model Y Performance launch). They might open orders soon, but deliveries will lag.
If you've ordered by today:
Picking up soon? Grab my Tesla Delivery Checklist here. It covers high/low-priority checks and what to do if issues arise. Thanks to everyone who's supported the channel this way!
Also, Teslas don't come with great floor mats. My top pick: 3W Liners. I've tested them against 3D Maxpider, Tesmanian, and Amazon options—they're the best for Model 3, Y, X, and Cybertruck. Use promo code DENNISCW for 25% off (under $100/set) here.
Today's the day to act if you want that option credit. Otherwise, hold tight—better financing and deals are likely mid-to-late February. Best time to buy? Always end-of-quarter.
