Hey everyone, DennisCW here! Welcome back to another update on all things Tesla. Today, I’m thrilled to dive into some fantastic news about the 2026 Tesla Model Y, including significantly reduced lease payments that make this incredible EV more affordable than ever. Plus, we’ll touch on a few other hot topics from the Tesla world. Let’s get started!
Tesla has just made a major move to make the 2026 Model Y even more accessible. They’ve slashed monthly lease payments for both the rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) trims. Here’s the breakdown:
This is a huge deal, especially considering that the down payment used to be around $3,000. Now, with just $1,000 down, you can get behind the wheel of a brand-new Model Y on a 36-month lease with a 10,000-mile limit. And here’s a bonus: even if you don’t personally qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit, leasing offers a loophole to benefit from it (or at least a portion of it) through Tesla’s leasing credit.
With additional incentives like the America’s Heroes $1,000 discount (easily verifiable through ID.me for active duty, retirees, first responders, students, and teachers), you can lower your payments even further. Stackable incentives like the Lift incentive or Model Y loyalty discounts could drop your monthly cost even more. Check out my recent Tesla incentives video for a full list of stackable offers!
Comparing the Model Y RWD at $384/month to the Model 3 RWD at around $350/month, I’d pick the Model Y nine times out of ten. Why? It’s a more comfortable vehicle with extra space, a better sound system with more speakers and subwoofers, and just an overall better driving experience. If I had to do it over again, I’d probably go for the RWD Model Y with Full Self-Driving (FSD) for the best value.
What do you think? Are you jumping on these low lease offers or waiting for even better deals? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
In other exciting news, a refreshed Tesla Model X has been spotted in inventory lots, hinting at an upcoming minor update. While there’s no official announcement yet, we’ve seen spy shots of a blue Model X with ambient lighting, new 20-inch wheels, a front bumper camera, and metal pedals. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s a nice refresh. I’m guessing Tesla might drop an official reveal soon—maybe even this Thursday, as they tend to favor Thursdays for big news. Stay tuned for more details!
Tesla’s robotaxi project is making waves! Two Model Y robotaxis were recently spotted in Austin, Texas, with no drivers in the seat (though possibly someone in the passenger seat) and sporting a “Robo Taxi” logo on the side. According to Elon Musk, these are unmodified factory Teslas running a new alpha version of FSD software with 4x the parameters. This suggests that every Tesla rolling out of the factory could potentially be capable of unsupervised self-driving in the future. Exciting times ahead—could your Model Y become a personal robotaxi? Fingers crossed!
With EV technology, especially Tesla’s, evolving so rapidly, leasing might be a smart move. The average car ownership cycle is about four years, but with EVs, it could be shorter due to fast-paced tech advancements like FSD. Leasing lets you avoid heavy depreciation and stick to a set monthly payment without worrying about the car’s long-term value. Plus, with these low payments and incentives, it’s a fantastic time to lease a Model Y. Are you considering leasing over buying? Let me know!
If you’re planning to finance or lease a Tesla, protecting your credit is crucial. Data breaches, like the recent one at Bank of America, can expose your personal info for months before you’re even notified. Just bought a Tesla or planning to? Remember, Teslas come with zero accessories—not even a phone mount. Here are my top recommendations:

Tesla just announced a cool contest where you can win a Model Y by submitting a 90-second fan video showcasing why you love Tesla and its mission. The grand prize includes a Model Y, an all-expenses-paid trip to Gigafactory Texas, and a private tour. Second and third place also get the trip and tour. If you’ve got a creative streak, this is your shot! Details are on Tesla’s landing page—give it a try!
If you’re upgrading to a Tesla and need to sell your current car, my friend Chip (who’s been on the channel before) is looking to buy vehicles, especially EVs and Teslas. He’s based in Tennessee, so East Coast and Central U.S. folks are prioritized, but it’s worth reaching out wherever you are. Mention “Dennis Deal” for special consideration. The 2026 Tesla Model Y lease deals are some of the most aggressive we’ve seen, making now an incredible time to get into a Tesla. Whether you’re leasing or buying, stacking incentives can save you big. Plus, with updates like the Model X refresh and robotaxi sightings, the Tesla ecosystem keeps getting more exciting. What do you think about these lease prices? Are you planning to take advantage of them, or are you holding out for more discounts later in the year? Let me know in the comments!
