Hey everyone, DennisCW here! Welcome back to another exciting update on all things Tesla. Today, I’ve got some fantastic news for those of you eyeing the most affordable Tesla Model Y Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD). Inventory discounts are finally here, with savings of up to $820 on select demo vehicles! Plus, I’ll be diving into other hot topics like the Tesla Robotaxi launch and upcoming Model Y Performance pricing predictions. Let’s get into it!
If you’ve been waiting for a deal on the Tesla Model Y RWD, now might be the perfect time to strike. Tesla has just rolled out inventory discounts on demo vehicles, with savings ranging from $450 to $820. While these aren’t jaw-dropping numbers, they’re a step in the right direction, especially as we approach the end of the quarter—a time when Tesla often stacks on incentives to boost sales.
Here’s how to find these deals:
Pro Tip: If you’re in a mild-weather state like California, Texas, or Florida, the RWD is an excellent daily driver for maximum efficiency and range. I’d personally opt for the 19-inch wheels and a white interior for that sleek look.
For the best deals, check out my Best Deal Spreadsheet linked below to track inventory discounts across the country. If $820 isn’t enough, keep an eye out for stacked incentives like option credits (e.g., waived fees for black paint or tow hitch) that could sweeten the pot.
With the end of the quarter just weeks away, and incentives like the 1.99% financing set to expire by June 30th, many of you are asking: Should I buy now or wait for better deals? My advice remains the same—if you need a vehicle now (e.g., facing costly repairs on your current car), these deals are solid. However, if your current ride is running fine, waiting could pay off. I predict we’ll see 0.99% financing in Q3 (possibly August) and even 0% in Q4, along with more stacked incentives like $2,000–$3,000 off inventory.
PSA: Other incentives ending June 30th include:
Make sure to take delivery by the end of the month to lock in these offers!
In other exciting news, the Tesla Robotaxi has officially launched in Austin, Texas, with select invitees getting their first rides. While I didn’t snag an invite (and honestly, I’m not sure I’d travel just to ride in one), the initial feedback and videos are rolling in. The service is currently geo-fenced to a limited area in Austin, with every ride priced at a cheeky $4.20 (classic Elon humor). There’s a Tesla employee onboard monitoring each trip, and the experience mirrors Full Self-Driving in a standard Model Y or 3.

I’ve got a bad feeling about the upcoming Model Y Performance pricing. Here’s why: the current Model 3 Performance is priced at $54,990, just under the $55,000 tax credit cap for sedans. However, the Model Y (classified as an SUV) has a tax credit cap of $80,000. Historically, the Model Y Performance hit nearly $70,000 at its peak during pricing fluctuations. While I don’t expect it to climb that high, recent Model X price hikes (up $12,000 to $89,990) suggest Tesla might position the Model Y Performance higher to create a pricing gap.
My prediction? The Model Y Performance MSRP could land between $59,990 (launch series price) and $69,990, with $65,000 as a middle-ground guess—$10,000 more than the Model 3 Performance. Factors like minimal exterior changes (e.g., no front bumper updates) might keep it lower, but demand for the Model Y could justify a premium. What’s your max price for a Model Y Performance? Buying a Tesla? Remember, they come with zero accessories—not even a phone mount! Here are a few must-haves I recommend from my partners:
Lastly, I’m thrilled to partner with Mini Revs, the ultimate Tesla miniature company. These aren’t just toys—they’re insanely accurate replicas of Tesla vehicles, including a slick black Cybertruck with a tiny ATV.
