Hey everyone, DennisCW here! If you're a Tesla owner or enthusiast, you’ve probably heard the latest buzz—Tesla is now offering window tinting services through a partnership with XPEL. In today’s blog post, I’m diving into the details of this new offering, sharing the pricing, my thoughts on whether you should go for it, and some personal recommendations for tinting and other Tesla accessories. Let’s get started!
Recently, Tesla rolled out window tinting as an option for various models, and the pricing is now publicly available. For example, the cost for tinting starts at around $560, depending on the model and material you choose. I love the transparency here—having upfront pricing and material options on their website is a great move. It helps Tesla owners make informed decisions without any surprises.
However, there’s a catch. It appears that Tesla isn’t directly installing the tint themselves. Instead, they’re partnering with authorized retailers through XPEL. While this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it does raise some concerns. When you book through Tesla, you won’t know exactly who’s installing your tint until you click “Find Installer” and see the retailer assigned to you. This lack of upfront clarity might be a bit risky for some, as the quality of installation can vary depending on the shop.
While it’s exciting to see Tesla getting into the window tint game, I’m not entirely sold on using their partnered service—especially if you’re in an area with plenty of reputable tint shops. My advice? Do your research. If you’re unsure about local options, hop on Yelp and look for the highest-reviewed, specialized tint shops in your area. At the end of the day, a great installation and excellent customer service are what matter most.
That said, if you’re in a location with limited options, Tesla’s service could be a convenient fallback. Just make sure to double-check reviews of the authorized installer they pair you with.
For those of you in the Orange County area, I’ve got a fantastic recommendation—OC Tint Solutions. I’ve taken all of my Tesla vehicles (Model X, Model 3, Model Y, and even the Cybertruck) to them, and I can’t speak highly enough of their work. They’ve got two locations in Costa Mesa and Anaheim, and their quality is top-notch, backed by a perfect 5.0-star rating with over 910 reviews.
If you decide to go with OC Tint Solutions, ask for the owner, Jason, and mention the “Dennis Deal” for a special offer. They use 3M tint, which is my personal favorite for its excellent heat and UV rejection properties. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!
While we’re on the topic of Tesla upgrades, let’s talk about something every new Tesla owner needs—all-weather floor mats. Unfortunately, new Teslas don’t come with these, but I’ve got you covered with my go-to recommendation: 3W Liners.
I’ve tested a ton of floor mats over the years—3D Maxpider, Tesmanian, and various Amazon brands—but 3W Liners are hands-down my favorite. They’re durable, fit perfectly, and provide excellent protection for my Model X, Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck. The best part? You can snag a set for under $100 using my promo code, which also gives you 25% off. Plus, using the code supports the channel, so it’s a win-win! Check the link below to grab your set and keep your Tesla’s interior looking pristine.

Tesla’s entry into the window tinting space is definitely intriguing, and the transparency with pricing is a big plus. However, I’d caution against jumping in without knowing who’s doing the installation. If you’re in OC, I highly recommend OC Tint Solutions for their proven track record. And don’t forget to protect your Tesla’s interior with a set of 3W Liners floor mats—trust me, they’re worth every penny.
What do you think about Tesla’s new tinting service? Have you had your Tesla tinted, or are you considering it? Drop your thoughts in the comments below, and let me know if you’ve tried OC Tint Solutions or 3W Liners. As always, thanks for reading, and I’ll catch you in the next post!
